  • Sure didn't like the sub zero weather. Electricity flickered off and on a couple times. While I was prepared to weather loss of power, others did not have the first clue about how they would handle the emergency. I will take this opportunity to talk with others about having emergency supplies ready

  • My sons and daughter have become my most often outdoor companions, I'd like to find some safe places to take them we are mostly upland and waterfowl hunters(2 labs for that) but rabbits and deer would be great. I own a outdoor supply business with access to many Prepper items I would be happy to trade gear and chores for the privilege. We are in the northwest area put traveling would be possible. ...

  • Replied to the Mad River area
Hi new to prepping but I think I have been preparing all my life for it, gardening, canning and learning how to hunt . My sister and I have been prepping most of our lives and want to work with a group to learn more skills or just have someone to talk to who understands how we feel about prepping.

  • Sorry Irish, I posted the reply to you in the wronge place. I've also been looking into growing a few plants in the house using grow lights or even full hydroponically.

  • Irish,
My wife grew up northeast of Columbus so we get done there more than I would like :) I try to sneak off when I can and run the dogs in the game areas and do some fly casting.

I have success with garden standards like tomatoes, but the last few years I have been incorporating edibles into the flower beds, brussel sprouts are an interesting looking plant.
Also planting herbs in with the flowers works well,to keep them from taking over I cut the bottom out of nursery pots and bury them almost to the top

Using "7" seems to keep the theaving leaf eaters away, my wife uses it on her ( four legged money pit)horse.

  • I live outside of Columbus. We got about 9 tomato plants that seem to do well. Peppers do good to as long as you can keep the whatnots from eating them. Cucumbers, zucchini, and squash seem to do well too.
